ASIMO arrives in town
Posted by: Anthony Lim

Honda's latest incarnation of its Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility robot, better known as ASIMO, is now making a tour of the country, replete with a host of new tricks and capabilities.

Man, machine.

The 1.3m tall robot made its first official public appearance at a preview in 1U today, and danced, kicked a ball and even served drinks to demonstrate its increased versatility.

At the preview, winners of the ASIMO Inspiring Dreams Contest which ran from Oct 13-Nov 2 were also specially invited to witness the improvements to ASIMO. One of the lucky winners was given an opportunity to go on stage to receive a ball kicked by ASIMO and was served a drink by the robot.

Coffee, tea, me?

The current ASIMO, which is faster, smarter and more mobile than its predecessor, will be touring the Klang Valley, Johor and Penang, so if you're eager to catch the sterling little robot that definitely could, take note of these dates below.

Details of ASIMO’s road tours:
Nov 14-16,
1 Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya
Nov 20-23, City Square, Johor Bahru
Nov 27-30, Queensbay Mall, Penang

The radical robot will also make a couple of exclusive visits to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in Johor on Nov 18 and the Penang Adventist Hospital on Nov 25.
