Renault Sport Clio RS200 Cup open for booking

KUALA LUMPUR: Local fans of Renault Sports range of performance vehicles can place their bookings for the latest Clio RS200 Cup hothatch that was unveiled to the media today at the Bangsar Shopping Centre.

The three-door version under the Ange Et Demon (Angel and Demon) Limited Edition series with 666 units worldwide is priced at RM199,000 on-the-road without insurance.

The new Clio RS200 Cup features several improvements over the previous generation model - among them a more aggressive front end which incorporates a Formula 1-type aerodynamic splitter, a reworked naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine that produces 203bhp and reaches peak power and torque at lower revs, and wider front and rear tracks for better cornering stability.

For the Malaysian market, the Clio RS200 gets a “Cup” chassis which features stiffer front and rear suspension, and a 7mm lower ride height, promising the vehicle with exhilarating cornering capabilities for road driving and track racing.

The Cup chassis edition also comes with a RS Performance Hub which eliminates torque steer and revised steering ratio that is 7.5% quicker over the non-Cup chassis version.

Wheels are the 17-inch type with 215/45/R17 tyres and large 312mm front brakes dics with Brembo 4-pot calipers for a high level of stopping power.

The 2.0-litre engine coupled to a six-speed close ratio gearbox does the 0-100kph sprint in 6.9 seconds.

According to local Renault vehicle distributor TC Euro Cars, the first batch of the Clio RS200 Cup are expected to arrive in two months.
