Indonesian scooting to Italy using old Vespa

JAKARTA: A 37-year-old man from Yogyakarta plans to travel alone to Italy via Malacca on his trusty Vespa scooter, which is 51 years old .

Andy Leeano said he is scheduled to depart from Alun-Alun, North Yogyakarta on Friday and head to Bandung, West Java before starting on the journey.

Andy is ready to set off on his adventure to Italy on Friday.


From there, he will head to Jakarta before ending his Indonesian part of the journey in Dumai, Riau.

"My only sea journey will be from Dumai to Malacca. After that it will be overland all the way," he said when contacted in Yogyakarta.

From Malaysia, Andy will travel through Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkey and traverse the European continent before reaching his final destination Italy, the birthplace of Vespa scooters.
